Let’s talk emotions here for a minute. How do you face your fears and anxiety? I’m not gonna lie my fear and anxiety at this new job this past week has been full throttle. It is so hard to overcome that fear of not knowing everything or messing up. People say FEAR has two meanings… Forget Everything And Run or Face Everything And Rise! It is easy to RUN but so much more fulfilling to RISE. See running is negative, it is that little devil on your shoulder bringing down your confidence, sucking the energy out of you, making you doubt yourself and your abilities to be successful. Rising up on the other hand is the little angel who is positive, a confidence booster, uplifting, makes you feel good about you.

So why is it that we let the negative devilish thoughts win over the cute angelic positive thoughts? Why is it easier to believe the bad before the good. Why do we let self doubt win over self love? What can we do to change the negative into positive?

There are a lot of things people say help them, meditation, journaling, gratitude, positive affirmations. Whatever works for you do it!! Wear your smile, wear it big, bright, and proud. It is contagious and it feels good. It is so hard to be negative if you are smiling. If fear is starting to show its ugly little head, look in the mirror, smile at it and say not today little guy. If you can not brush it away on your own  phone a friend and talk it out (or cry it out). Whatever it takes to let it just be a bad moment and not a bad hour or day. With every passing moment there is something to be grateful for, for me this new job has my fear of screwing up on major alert but, at the same time I am grateful that I have this job. Grateful for a paycheck, fun new friends (and old friends too…not in age but in how long I have known them) to work with, the team I am on is welcoming and make me feel like part of the family, and grateful for places in the facility to go and quietly eat lunch alone and be with the thoughts to conquer my fear and apply my wild orange essential oil and breathe deep and let it all go.
